In When Love Speaks, Mmapula takes the reader on a journey of love
and loving, through the summers and winters of a heart in love with
love. As a keen observer and analyst of love and life, she explores
how human love stories unfold, and concludes that the love story is
a concoction of deliberate actions, mixed emotions and bittersweet
memories, a delicate dance with unpredictable outcomes at best.
The poems and stories in this book are paired with illustrations
by renowned African artists. This book is an invitation to an open
conversation with love, imploring the reader to feel and appreciate
being immersed in its wonderful and glorious nature, to listen and
